Boilermakers Local 105
Dependents of Boilermaker members are eligible for scholarships of up to $5,000. Beginning in 2022, the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers awards up to $100,000 worth of scholarships to dependents of members, including those in Canada and the U.S.
Boilermaker scholarships are open to high school seniors who will be entering their first year of academic study at a degree-granting, accredited college or university within one year of their high school graduation and are dependents of Boilermaker members in good standing (includes son, daughter, legally adopted child or dependent of a member in good standing).
Scholarship awards are based upon a variety of factors, including academic achievement, extra-curricular and outside school activities, career goals, and performance on a typed essay.

Unionism is on the rise in the United States and Canada. How can the Boilermakers’ Union capitalize on this trend to reach and recruit the next generation to join the trades, and more specifically, to join the Boilermakers’ Union?
Applications for the 2025 awards will be available online at the end of this year and will be accepted from January 1 to March 1, 2025. Applications submitted after the March 1, 2025 deadline cannot be considered.
* Applicants must submit proof of relationship or dependency to the Boilermaker member in the form of a copy of their birth certificate, proof of legal adoption, tax return, or current health insurance coverage, via secure upload or mail (postmarked by March 1, 2025) to:

Applications submitted and mailed documents postmarked after the March 1, 2025 deadline cannot be considered.

In addition to the International scholarship, Local 105 also offers up to four, $1,000.00 scholarships. Dependents of Local 105 members in good standing, who apply for the international scholarship, will also be eligible to win a scholarship through the local. The local scholarship winners will be selected by the International Scholarship Committee.
In selecting these winners, the members of the Scholarship Committee were highly impressed with their excellent grades throughout high school, their many achievement awards, their participation in many extracurricular activities, and their well-written essays.
The Union Plus Credit Card Scholarship Program is open to members of unions that are participating in the credit card program, their spouses, and dependent children attending or planning to attend a four-year college or university, community college, technical college, or trade school.
Union Plus Credit Card Scholarship Program applications are available beginning in September. Applications can be downloaded from the Union Plus website. Or, applicants can clearly print their name, return address, telephone number, and international union affiliation on a postcard and send it to: Union Plus Scholarship Program, P. O. Box 34800, Washington DC 20043-4800.
Application deadline is January 31. Award winners will be announced on May 31. However, due to the high volume of applications, only winners will receive notification.
All members are eligible to apply regardless of whether they carry a Union Plus Credit Card.
